This ride is categorised as an easy ride, but I must admit that it has a few climbs in it, that might make some people say it is maybe more of a medium type of ride. Well, only for you to decide.
The starting point is in Gronsveld and is near a nice parking spot where you can leave your car. Within the first kilometer from the start there is a short technical climb that unfortunately is needed to get you on to the nice gravel roads on top of Riesenberg / Kleinberg. After this the remaining route is much easier and excellent suited to gravel bikes.
As I said, there is a long double climb close to Gulpen that is part of this route. At the foot of the Gulperberg the route goes left and takes you on to a 1km long climb with a 5% average gradient. After this there is a short 500m downhill to catch your breath again, to be followed by a 1.5km climb of around 6% gradient. A little further down this route, you’ll be presented with a long downhill that has a little rocky start, followed by the last real climb in this route that goes into double digits for a short part.
Have fun and let me know what you think of this route.

Just wanted to say thanks for these great routes. Did this route today and yesterday the fixed gear coffee ride (+/- 70k).
I have to say that this one was not so easy, but like you mentioned in the description, limburg can be quite rough.
For both today’s ride and yesterday’s ride i was happy to have 42 mm tires on the bike. There was a lot of mud, holes, loose rocks and rough terrain on both rides.
This one has a couple of pretty difficult climbs in it near Gulpen and Billinghuizen. But overall it was a fantastic route. Keep ’em coming!
